Bucks Forward Jae Crowder Faces Eight-Week Absence Due to Groin Injury, Surgery Scheduled

In a setback for the Milwaukee Bucks, forward Jae Crowder is set to undergo surgery to address a groin injury, and the team expects him to be sidelined for approximately eight weeks. The announcement came on Monday following Crowder’s injury during the Bucks’ 112-97 loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday. Diagnostic tests revealed a left adductor and abdominal tear, necessitating surgical intervention, which is scheduled for Tuesday.

The absence of Crowder, who has been averaging 8.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game this season, will pose a challenge for the Bucks. The team, currently holding a 5-4 record, is in the midst of integrating All-Star guard Damian Lillard into their lineup. Although Crowder has primarily come off the bench in seven of the team’s nine games, he ranks third in minutes played per game (26.4), trailing only Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

With Crowder sidelined, the Bucks are expected to rely more heavily on players like Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton to fill the void left by the injured forward. This injury adds an extra layer of complexity to the Bucks’ early-season performance and raises questions about their ability to maintain consistency in the competitive Eastern Conference .
